An interactive, 360° film where viewers use the gyroscopic capability of an iPad to explore the wake of esteemed cultural critic Leyland Barracroft, uncovering schemes, secrets and shame.
This project required the careful design, writing, and direction of seven actors in five separate rooms, with proper time-coding ensuring that when an actor exited one room, she would enter another room at nearly the exact same time. Using five separate iPads as "windows" into each room, Team Awake created a unique interactive story that viewers could not only experience in 360º, but depending on which room they were "in" at any given time, would be able to see different perspectives of the dramatically unfolding story.
As technical director and creative liaison, I worked closely with the lead writer to design and produce a coherent and vivid story within an innovative digital space. I performed initial R&D, choosing GoPano Micro lens as an ideal minimal viable product (MVP) by which to prove our concept. I also wrote several scenes, in addition to acting in the film.
